Sonoma, CA (PRWEB) February 01, 2012
Adam Capital Clean Energy Asset Finance LLC, a leader in the clean energy lending space, today announced the launch of Promise Energy, an affiliated solar hot water development company, to provide full-service design, engineering, installation and financing for commercial solar water heating projects in California and Arizona.
Despite California providing solar water heating rebates of up to $ 500,000 for multifamily and commercial properties, the program has had few applicants from apartment buildings, hotels, hospitals, or other commercial property owners. The primary barriers to wider adoption of solar hot water are the lack of financing options to cover the upfront installation cost; and the lack of an integrated business model that can combine bulk purchasing power with streamlined design and installation to reduce overall costs, and increase solar savings to tenants and building owners.
With the launch of Promise Energy, Adam Capital has created a business to solve both these challenges, providing a scalable solution to the commercial solar hot water market.
First, there are little to no upfront costs. With Promise Energy?s solar hot water power purchase agreement (PPA), commercial and non-profit apartment building owners and condominium associations can now install solar water heating with little or no upfront cost?and still save thousands of dollars on their annual gas utility bills.
Second, to streamline installation and improve performance, Promise Energy has negotiated contracts with leading solar hot water equipment manufacturers, and pre-engineered solar thermal systems for easy installation in a variety of standard sizes. Now, installations on most commercial buildings are simple, code-compliant, and quick. For example, trained installers contracted through Promise Energy will typically be able to install a 24-panel solar thermal system on a 40 unit apartment building in 5 days or less.
?With the launch of Promise Energy we have developed a complete business model including top tier equipment, standardized system kits, and PPA financing to provide a scalable solution for the commercial solar hot water market,? said Adam Boucher, CEO of Adam Capital.
?We?re very proud to be partnering with Adam Capital to launch Promise Energy and make it easy for California apartment complexes, nursing homes and hotels to go solar and save money,? said Kevin Pickett, Director of Sales and Marketing for Promise Energy. ?Promise Energy offers building owners a simple, turnkey solution to going solar ? providing immediate and long-lasting savings on their gas utility bills without tying up their capital.?
?California is offering millions of dollars in incentives to help building owners and tenants save money with solar water heating, but until now the market has been limited by lack of financing, one-off designs, and high installation costs,? adds Larry Farris, head of Strategic Operations for Adam Capital. ?Promise Energy solves these challenges by combining industry-leading engineering and design experience with Adam Capital’s financing expertise to provide building owners a simple, affordable path to clean, renewable solar water heating.?
?We?ve chosen high-quality solar thermal equipment for Promise Energy?s financing package, and pre-engineered a series of standardized system kits for easy installation, operation and maintenance,? said Boucher, ?Apartment building owners are going to be very happy when they see their new gas utility bills.?

Valley Forge, Pa. (PRWEB) December 15, 2011
CertainTeed is expanding its portfolio of solar roofing products through the introduction of Avancis PowerMax? photovoltaic (PV) modules, which feature rack-mounted modules that can be easily integrated into residential or commercial roofing systems. In conjunction with the product launch, CertainTeed is offering vigorous training programs and technical support as well as extended warranties ? covering the modules, mounting system and workmanship ? to its credentialed contractors.
?PowerMax is demonstrative of CertainTeed?s commitment to innovation and aligns with our commitment to bringing economical, sustainable building product solutions into the marketplace,? says Mark Stancroff, business manager, CertainTeed Solar. ?By expanding CertainTeed Solar?s product offering, we are now able to provide our customers with solar solutions for almost any roofing application.?
Manufactured by Saint-Gobain, the world’s largest building materials company and parent company to CertainTeed, PowerMax is comprised of Copper?Indium?Selenide (CIS) solar technology. It is an ultra-efficient, cost-effective module solution with a sophisticated, sleek design. The stylishly uniform black panels are exceptionally durable, simple to install and suitable for use on all types of roofing, curtain walls and canopies.
In terms of performance, PowerMax continues to generate electricity even in partial shading ? when most commodity modules shut down completely. Additionally, while all PV products perform at their best on clear, sunny days, PowerMax, with its CIS technology, works longer and harder, making the most out of any sunlight conditions thereby further lowering the homeowners? electric bill and reducing carbon emissions. The modules offer a high snow load capacity, Class C fire rating, and are covered by 20-year performance and 10-year product warranties.
The product qualifies for a 30 percent federal tax credit and may be eligible for state rebates and incentives listed at http://www.dsireusa.org.
CertainTeed and parent company Saint-Gobain, the global leader in solar technology and innovation, offer a powerful portfolio of photovoltaic roofing systems in North America, including EnerGen?, Sunlap?, Apollo? and Avancis PowerMax?. Designed to meet the demands of sustainable construction and replacement roofing, the solar product offering leverages next generation technology to generate unrivaled performance without compromising aesthetics. www.solardave.com This is my 1st video interview with Maura Eurton Commercial Sale Manager of Standard Renewable Energy out of Boulder Colorado. This interview was taken at the SunFest event during the DNC. SolarDave: What Will Happen To The Solar Colorado Rebates in 2009? Maura Eurton: What we are really trying to do besides focusing our efforts on energy efficiency, is to really capitalize on the residential market right now. Because the ITC (investment tax credit) has not been extended through 2009 right now, so we do not have that guarantee of that 00 federal tax credit right now or 30% of the system costs. So that is financial incentive that is unclear in the future will be. Looks like it is relatively dismal. Then with Xcel and other utility providers in the area, we do not have a guarantee what the 2009 rebate structure will be. That means the .50 a watt the people are currently getting on residential systems – we don’t know what it will be again next year. SolarDave: Does on Dec 31st 2008 so something start happening? Maura Eurton: What happens is Xcel has these rebates in place because of the renewable portfolio standard. They have to get a certain amount of energy from renewable resources. So that is why the are paying people to put up these renewable systems up on the houses to help supplement their criteria. They have to meet this bill. To do this each year they are getting closer and closer to portfolio standard so that means they have to offer less and …
